I would just remove the existing “About…” item and add a new one with the data you want.

Thanks , this helped a lot.

One thing though , it seems that if you modify the pre-generated submenu items in any way the AppName is no longer Bold.

It doesn’t mind if you add more items to the submenu , but if you try to take the “About …” item and change it’s data property (this is what i’ve done and also added an eventListener) the menu will no longer be Bold.

This is annoying…
Any thoughts?

thanks for this! my previous attempts to remove items thru a loop were not successful. i completely forgot about the “while” statement. lol.

also, if the application menu is altered, the “adl” menu will not appear in bold when testing the AIR app from “Test Movie”. the movie must be published and launched externally in order to see that this menu item is in fact bold. [AIR 2, Flash Authoring CS5, Mac OS X 10.6.4]
